Hearing them get so excited over the whale fall is so fun I love hearing people who are passionate about their work
We once had a chance to talk to Prof. Jon Copley, whose speciality is deep ocean life, and he told us about a washed-up whale carcass that researchers managed to tow back out to sea and deposit in a known spot on the seabed (just west of the Azores).
It was filmed for a documentary and it’s still there, but obviously getting the time/money/equipment to study it (once the TV crew had gone) is limited, so it’s only monitored once every few months.
I asked him “do you sometimes just think about it, like an old acquaintance, and wonder how it’s getting on?”
He gazed wistfully off at the horizon, over the gently bobbing sea surrounding our tiny boat, towards the whale-fall location, and said “yes. yes, I do.”
I'll counter this with "Apologies to all my mutuals who accepted chatting with me only to find out I love chatting and I will check in on you and I will bombard you with random drawings or "here's some good vibes" posts and memes!" I just think it's neat to chat and I always worry I'm annoying as fuck.

Basically it's a whole chaos space marine warband based around mimicry and infiltration - they look like a suspiciously normal space marine chapter from the outside but OOPS! It's all mimics.
